Amazon.com Review This double window fan draws in fresh, cool air from the outside or exhausts stale, hot air from inside. It can also do both simultaneously, because each of the two fans can be set independently to draw in or exhaust out, allowing the unit to exchange inside and outside air. Operable either manually or automatically--with its thermostat turning the fans off and on to maintain a selected temperature--the unit has a one-touch electronic control and two speeds so it can be adjusted to conditions. It's designed to fit double-hung, vertical-slider, and casement windows. A built-in 7-inch extender and two 3-inch extenders permit custom fitting for windows from 24 to 37 inches wide. Because the unit is lightweight plastic it can be moved easily from room to room. The fans have six blades and measure 8-1/2 inches in diameter. I did not mean you have to make this comment because it had no intention of buying more than one of those fans. I can say now that all these fans are designed and built super cheap and none of these fans are perfect, but some are much worse than others. Holmes Twin Window Fan HAWF2043: my rating - 3 out of 5 stars that you bought the unit HAWF2043 Holmes. It is light and size of the window very well, although I had problems with the extension that is on the right. Floodgates for the Extender is off to the right along the top and bottom of the fan, which is extremely stupid, because as soon as the fan in your window frame and attaches to the bottom and you can move the extender I mean, what rocket scientist thought of this? So you have to unlock the lock before the device in the window space and not in weight from the ground block, you can create Extender where you want it. It is not easy. And latch mechanisms can be difficult to move. At the time I could not imagine what is worse, but I was wrong when I found with the extender on Honeywell unit, I would go in the next section. This unit is the best Holmes placement of the cord in the lower left corner ... the location is high enough not to interfere in the bottom of the window frame. This unit has two speeds, high and low. Controls are easy to use. In fact there is only one button and two button switch cycles through the settings of high and low speed manual and after the pre-automatic temperature settings are 60, 65 Fahrenheit, 70, 75 and 80 degrees. If you set one of the preset temperature, the unit off when the room temperature. It seemed to work, though I had the opportunity to see how it functions. The two options for determining the direction of the fans, either for admission or exhaust that can be done independently in each fan, so you could have a fan at the entrance and another at the outlet for a rapid exchange of air with fresh air. This device is 8.5 inches and the fans are relatively quiet on both speeds, naturally high is higher than low, but do not expect silence. I have a Power Meter Kill-A-Watt P3 and this unit 46 watts and 63 watts used on low to high. I'd be happy with this device, in addition to two days using the right fan started working intermittently, of course, it is unacceptable. Back. I give this fan 3 out of 5 stars because I think if you look you will be happy with, but do not expect much good. FYI: Holmes is a division of Sunbeam. Honeywell HW-628 Twin Window Fan Enviracaire: My rating 2 out of 5 stars, with the right fan not working on houses, I ordered Honeywell HW-628th soon as I saw it, I knew I would not be happy with it. For one thing, the device has a 7-inch fans, compared with 8.5 inches on Holmes. So get as much air moving, the fans would have to run much faster and the device will be much higher. Time to install ... Earlier I mentioned that the extension of Holmes poorly designed, but the extension of this was much worse. First and foremost, this unit has two short positions on both left and right instead of an extender more like Holmes, second, the four blocks are extenders, get this, on the back of the machine, the side facing the window! How do you specified.
