This Evaporative Air Cooler, Humidifier, and Fan with Ionizer is versatile and an economical way to cool and humidify the surrounding air. The Cooler easily rolls from room to room with lockable casters. Oscillating louvers for even distribution of refreshing cool air. Even with low humidity of New Mexico to cool the unit every room, but close to the unit, blows you facilitation of 3-4 degrees (marked with a good thermometer), plus the benefits of air, the lateral movement. Bells and whistles ("natural" and "sleep" mode) are crap, and the unit is quite loud on the lowest speed (unbearably so with high speeds). Decent, but not a substitute for air conditioning in general helpdeskdan I am satisfied with my air cooler, but only under the conditions that I use. Let me be clear, this is a perfect complement to an air conditioner. My bedroom is not cool, no matter what temperature you set the air conditioner air cooler does a nice job of cooling it down to 5 degrees (with cold tap water). Not to mention the advantage of moisture. I can add ice, which would be of great help, but it would have meant more work and my fridge out more hot air. (Physics of Simple -.. hot shame that there is a fridge on the outside) If you add ice, and was out of your refrigerator, it might be a substitute for an air conditioner to a room, but I have not tried. You should buy this product to your room if: * You have an air conditioner * * Your home is very dry you like / miss the humidity (good for sinuses) * You do not want to put a balm to air the window, or the second air conditioner in your window. (The colder water better =) * Even if you change the water every day, the PAN must be cleaned at least once a month. * My started making a rattling upsetting for the first few minutes. Good unit, lousy support from Wayne Paterson As another reviewer mentioned, Amana does not recognize the existence of these units rebadged Haier on its website. Haier has unfortunately not seem to recognize, support by practically impossible. The a / c unit requires a small window (or a large heavily blocked), which can take a lot of work if your windows are not the right size, but it is true of such a unit. It is a very practical device, without empty bucket. It is also quite loud, with strange controls that require the remote control. It was great the first year we had, the less the second, despite careful storage. They would probably be better with a domestic production (or European or Japanese) unit, if you find one. 5 of 6 people found this review helpful. By Kevin Johnston large unit its great. To empty a bucket of water every day and worth every penny. I use it for a spare room that is usually very warm cool, and the room is cool enough to comfortably sleep It makes opening a window, but easy to move in the closet for the colder months, or as a backup up of a / c, when the whole house air failed. It will only cool a room, but in this price range, are well worth a ([...]) below. SUMMARY Phillips Pierce: 5 / 5 stars - glad I bought enthusiastically recommend it to friends, and not hesitate to buy a new model window fan ----- This Lasko 2155A - also sold as the 9155 model King Air - is a true blessing for me. I live in the Deep South (Georgia), where the sweltering summer heat index (H + heating near 100% humidity), often reaches 130 or more - and no air conditioning. For me, a big fan of the whole house a window like this makes all the difference between comfort and hell in July and August roll around (which is July 27th as I write this, and I'm sitting near the window with the fan upon him). This is truly a house window fan, and costs much less to operate than an air conditioner. Compared with central A / C, I save over a hundred dollars a month, which is more than $ 600 one year each year that the money be better spent elsewhere! Lovely room / small air conditioner for the home of T. ice Hour ------ August update of this product: EER rating of 9.8 underestimate this product efficiency. I live in NC and it was hot in June, with no signs of slowing down. Today 08/11/11 was the first in more than sixty days, the high temperature was below 90th It 'been 87th (Cloudy and rainy);) For the most part was above the middle-90. June. But when I got my electric bill in July to June was only $ 54 I was like ok, it will take a month for energy consumption to show. I've just recievied my account in August for the month of July and was only $ 57th Honestly !!!!!!!!!! And let me tell you, this device produced by my mind .. ;) I used not to give a series of EER another look, but now it is everything you want, when you buy something electrical. Even at 110 volts, putting it out as much air as cool as my old 220-unit outside. If I am still using (0utside drive) my electricity bill would be well over $ 120 ------ After reading some of the reviews for this product, I was a bit skeptical. Not so much for the product, but how it was delivered. Some shippers reported injuries. Mine arrived intact and in very good condition. Setup was a breeze, thanks to its light weight, there was only one person job. Lasted only 30 minutes, and I actually read the instructions. :) Could easily be a 15 minutes work when I'm in a hurry. Works like a charm and does everything I expected / wanted. (To knock down the high heat of summer and money is not my central air unit is expensive to store) Some may ask how can a 110-unit to store a 220, but believe me, it does / will. My central air likes almost all the time in the summer, no matter what temperature I set it on, and this pushes electricity bills drastically.
